Backroads of Montana: Eureka to Big Sandy tells stories from across Big Sky Country. Near the town of Big Sandy, we’ll head to a ranch that still works on horseback. Tom and Rene Brown have developed a special relationship with a different breed of horse. On Fridays from Labor Day to Memorial Day, Eureka women create and repair quilts to raise funds for the Tobacco Valley Historical Village. When wagon roads needed to be widened and improved across Montana in the teens, construction was done by convicts from the Montana State Prison. Backroads follows a Montana family from wake-up to weigh-in during a family ice fishing derby that’s getting the next generation of anglers hooked on the sport. Backroads host William Marcus takes viewers on a tour of the historic Moss Mansion in Billings.
