Public Reporting and Transparency Policy

Article I: General

Friends of MontanaPBS believes in transparency and accountability to its constituents and the public by making available information on Friends of MontanaPBS governance structure, governance policies and documents, financial conditions as reflected in audited financial statement and major programs.

Article II: Public Documents

The following documents are available:

  • Governance documents, including, but not limited to:
    • Mission and Vision Statement
    • A list of the current officers and directors
    • Articles of Incorporation
    • Bylaws
    • Policies of Standing Committees
    • Conflict of Interest Policy
    • Whistleblower Policy
    • Fraud Policy
    • Travel and Entertainment Policy
    • Investment Policy
    • Donor Privacy Policy
    • Board Code of Ethics
    • Donor Bill of Rights
    • Public Media Code of Integrity
    • Document Destruction Policy
    • Public Reporting and Transparency Policy
  • Financial and IRS documents, including:
    • Current year IRS Form 1023 exemption application
    • Current year IRS Form 990 and 990T
    • Current year audited financial statements


Article III: Access and Document Requests

It is the policy of Friends of MontanaPBS to allow the public access to the documents listed above for the most current three years on our website, and hardcopy by request. Individuals wanting a copy of these records will be charged for photocopying expenses at the amount specified by law.

Friends of MontanaPBS will honor written or emailed requests for records, if payment for photocopying and postage is made, within 30 days. Friends of MontanaPBS will not honor requests for records made over the telephone.
