Help Us Reach 1000 New, Sustaining Members by December 31st

In October, Montanans like you stepped up in our moment of need. After federal funding for public media was suddenly cancelled, you completely bridged the gap for the year ahead. That overwhelming show of support proved something we’ve always believed: Montanans deeply value publicly-funded, independent, educational media. You showed us how much this work matters, and that gave us real hope for the road ahead.

Here's the honest truth: the “Bridge the Gap” campaign bought us time, but not a permanent solution.

We’re entering a new financial reality. After 40 years of continuous support, federal funding has gone away. That means keeping Montana PBS strong, locally-rooted, and broadly accessible will depend more than ever on Montanans themselves.

But here’s the good news: this is very doable!

Every week, about a quarter of the state—around 250,000 people—watch our programs. Of those, 24,000 are active members. That means 225,000 Montanans enjoy Montana PBS but haven’t yet joined as members. If just one in ten of those viewers became a new sustaining member at only $10 dollars a month, we’d more than replace the federal funding we lost—and secure our financial future.

That’s why this Winter Pledge Drive, we’ve set a goal: 1000 new sustaining members by December 31st.

Here’s how you can help:

  • If you’re not yet a sustainer, become one—just $10 a month keeps Montana PBS thriving and gives you access to our streaming service, Montana PBS Passport.
  • If you already give monthly, consider increasing your gift by $10 to cover another viewer who might not be able to support us at this time.
  • And if joining isn’t possible for you right now, you can help us spread the word by sharing our documentaries, telling friends about our outreach events, and of course…

Every little bit adds up. It really does.

In return, we promise to make your support count by keeping our statewide community informed, inspired, and connected. Together, we can keep public media in Montana alive and thriving for generations to come.
