I'll Ride That Horse!: Montana Women Bronc Riders
First Aired Saturday, September 04, 2004
Montana is the home of a rich tradition of women bronc riders who learned to rope, break and ride the wild horses that once populated the Western landscape. Their skill and daring as horsewomen easily led to riding broncs on the rodeo circuit from the Northern Rockies to New York, Spain to Australia. Following in the footsteps of Fannie Sperry Steele, Lady Bucking Horse Champion at Calgary in 1912, was "Queen of the Gal Bronc Riders" Alice Greenough, veteran rider Margie Greenough, all-girl rodeo producer Marg Brander, and wild horse catcher Bobby Kramer, who rode from the late 20s to the late 50s. These cowgirls tell their inspiring stories in "I'll Ride That Horse!"
