Privately Run Schools in Montana
There are more than 30 privately run schools for troubled youth operating in the state of Montana. It's an exploding industry, but strangely, most Montanans have no idea the schools even exist. During the 2007 MT Legislature, lawmakers passed a bill requiring these schools to be licensed and regulated. (Find out more...) Celtic Woman: Songs from the Heart
Wednesday at 7pm
Ireland's most famous singers and Celtic violinists perform at the fabulous Powers Court Estate, location of such films as Barry Lyndon, The Count of Monte Cristo and the series The Tudors.  This new special was filmed in HD in July 2009 before an audience of 1000 fans gathered at the 13th century castle and surrounding 47 acre estate.  The musical repertoire ranges from spirited Celtic fiddle and bodhran pieces to lush arrangements of Irish classics, contemporary covers and original compositions.  This is the fifth collaboration between this multiplatinum group and PBS. During this airing, a special pledge will offer an opportunity to receive tickets to special events in Bozeman or Missoula.

Conversation With Walter
Thursday at 7:30pm
Walter Breuning likes to speak his mind. And why shouldn't he? At the age of 113, this Great Falls, Mont. Resident, and oldest man in the world, has earned the right. When Walter sat down with William Marcus (Backroads of Montana) he talked about childhood, career, family and the changes he has witnessed over his many years. Walter knew James J. Hill, founder of the Great Northern Railroad, and often saw Charlie Russell in the Mint Bar in Great Falls. A Conversation with Walter is all about listening. We hope you enjoy what you hear.

Montana Focus: Health Care Insurance: Who Can Afford It?
Thursday at 7pm
Montanans who have health insurance coverage are noticing a steady uptick in their co-pay rates. With or without health care reform, the cost of insurance is expected to continue creeping upward. Yet, some small business employers manage to pay the full cost of insurance premiums for their workers. How do they provide medical coverage in a tough economic environment where other Montana entrepreneurs are scrambling to meet payroll? Montana Focus visits rural and urban Montanans, and medical insurance and hospital administrators, in this examination of the cost of providing health care coverage in a time where a medical emergency can spell financial bankruptcy.

World War II in HD Colour: The Rise of the Dictators
Monday at 9pm
How could the settlement at the end of World War I, the “war to end all wars,” lead to an even greater conflict just a few years later? The answer is a tale with terrible resonance today. This opening episode shows how the Great Depression sapped the will of the democracies of the West to face up to a new and disturbing political phenomenon — the rise of militaristic dictators, in Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain. As a result, the major powers ignored all the warning signs and allowed the likes of Mussolini, and above all, Hitler to begin the course that would lead the world into catastrophe. The episode ends as Hitler plots his attack upon Poland.
