2018 U.S. House Profiles

From the forests of Libby, to the grasslands of Albion, Montana's at-large Congressional district spans more ground than any other district in the lower 48. Montana PBS explores the candidates and the issues as voters choose who will represent this great expanse. Republican Congressman Greg Gianforte, the Bozeman tech entrepreneur who won a 2017 special election, has vowed to support President Trump's agenda. He promises a tough stance on immigration and growth-spurring economic policies empathetic to business. Democrat challenger Kathleen Williams has three terms in the Montana state legislature under her belt and a career in natural resources. She will focus on fixing the nation's healthcare system and bringing an open, responsive governing style to Washington.
