Posted by Sandhya Thangavel on

Longtime Friends of MontanaPBS board members and volunteers, Nancy Flikkema, Joan Coffin and Arthur Coffin have won awards from the National Friends of PBS.

Nancy Flikkema received the Elizabeth Campbell Outstanding Public Broadcasting Volunteer Award for helping to get MontanaPBS off the ground nearly 20 years ago and serving on the board throughout the life of the station.

Joan Coffin received the Diane Papedo Grassroots Advocacy Award for helping MontanaPBS secure the needed funding for its federally mandated digital conversion.

Arthur Coffin (no relation to Joan) received the Elaine Peterson Distinguished Service Award for his successful grant application that allowed MontanaPBS to begin broadcasting a free over-the-air signal in Billings this summer and in Butte later this fall.

The awards will be formally presented at the 2004 Development Conference held in Orlando in September.
