Other Ways to Give
While annual membership is the most common form of support we receive, there are many ways to contribute.

Planned Giving

Because of changes in the federal tax laws, many Americans are finding that it makes sense to increase their charitable giving as they plan for the distribution of their estate.

You may want to consider:

  • A Gift Through Your Will or Living Trust.
  • Gifts with Retained Income for You or Others.
  • Gifts of Retirement Plan Assets.
  • Gifts of Life Insurance.

By carefully planning your decisions, your individual taxes may be less, and your generosity will help MontanaPBS -- a statewide resource serving Montana families and individuals every day of the year.

For more information, you or your financial advisor should contact Crystal Leach, Director of Development at 406-994-6221 or via email at crystal@montanapbs.org.

Matching Gifts

Your company may match your gift to MontanaPBS and increase the total amount of your contribution. Review the list of companies below. If you are a current or retired employee of one of these companies, they may match your gift. If your company is not listed, ask your personnel department if they have a matching gift program. Many do.

If this is an option for you, send a copy of your completed matching gift form to MontanaPBS and we'll take care of the rest.

Donate Your Vehicle

You make the donation, we receive the proceeds of the sale, minus the costs.  We gladly accept cars, trucks, motorcycles, RV's, campers and even some farm machinery.  Your donation supports Friends of MontanaPBS -- and you may be able to take a tax deduction.

Just call toll-free 1-866-628-2277.  When you call, please let the person who answers know the vehicle's mileage and other particulars (make, model, year, color).  We will arrange for pick-up at your home or office.  There are no towing or other charges. Typically, your vehicle will be picked up in four days or so, but you may also have the option of delivering it to a specified location.

To donate a vehicle, it must be clear of liens or assignments; you need a clear title - a title with your name as owner.

You may be eligible for a tax deduction equal to the gross proceeds from the sale of the donated vehicle.  Contact your tax advisor about the possible tax deduction.

Volunteer

Many of our members choose to give through volunteering. There are many ways to volunteer, from serving on our Friends of MontanaPBS board, to helping with pledge drives and special events. There are opportunities for groups and individuals. Please call Crystal Leach, Director of Development at 406-994-6221 for more information.

Sustainer Membership

Many of our members have chosen to indefinitely contribute a certain amount every month via electronic funds withdrawal from bank accounts, or monthly charges to their credit cards. This form of giving saves the cost of mailing renewal notices. The Friends of MontanaPBS will continue to withdraw or charge the requested amount until you ask us to stop. If you are interested in this option, please call 1-800-426-8243, or, the next time you pledge, request the Sustainer Membership option.
