Montana Focus

Originally a bi-weekly news public affairs series hosted by Gene Brodeur, this program now consists of 5 specials throughout the year. Programs tackle issues across the state relating to politics and government, natural resources, business development, and social changes. In each program Gene visits with newspaper editors in Montana's communities to target the current headlines. Produced by Gene Brodeur and Scott Sterling for KUSM-TV/MontanaPBS, MSU-Bozeman.

Maintaining Respect In Billings

It's been more than ten years since Billings gained international recognition for taking a strong and public stand against racism. Mayor Chuck Tooley has created a nine-member Human Relations Commission to promote respect among racial, religious, and minority groups. Although community sensitivity to racism is high, tension over racial matters remains an issue. We talk with civic and religious leaders about what's being done to reduce the tension.
