"Into The Earth: Hard Rocks, Hard Choices" examines the current condition of Montana's mining industry. The program looks at the state's colorful mining history, it visits Montana's largest gold mine, it analyzes controversy surrounding proposed mines near Lincoln and Noxon, it looks at eastern Montana's coal mining tradition, it visits a town whose mine recently closed, and it examines reclamation efforts. Produced by the Student Documentary Unit of The University of Montana, KUFM-TV/Montana Public Television.
