The Bozeman Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Matthew Savery with guest pianist Dickran Atamian present Prokofiev's Piano Concerto no. 3. Mr. Atamian burst forth on the international musical scene in 1975 when he won First Prize at the 50th Anniversary Naumburg Piano Competition in New York City. He has dazzled sold-out audiences at Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall in New York, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, the Kennedy Center and the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., and overwhelmed the Marlboro and Rivinia Festivals. His 1979 Carnegie Hall debut featured the world premiere recording for RCA Red Seal Records and a 1981 PBS television special, one of four voted "Best of PBS". The Bozeman Symphony Orchestra also performs the incredibly demanding Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. This performance was recorded live by KUSM-TV/MontanaPBS on April 10, 1999 in the Wilson Auditorium in Bozeman. Matthew Savery is in his sixth season as Music Director of the Bozeman Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Choir. He enjoys a rapidly expanding reputation for his multifaceted career as an electrifying performer, dedicated orchestra builder, and charismatic teacher.
